BURNCO LLC is Hiring an Equipment Operator Near Fort Lupton, CO

EXPECTED RESULTS AND ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Operate heavy equipment such as loader and excavator to dig pits
  • Load aggregate material onto haul trucks
  • Manage fuel and oil inventory for equipment, maintain tanks daily
  • Perform routine inspections on equipment, complete minor equipment maintenance, submit work orders as needed
  • Utilize various hand tools as needed to complete daily job requirements
  • Help maintain a hazard free work environment by assisting in housekeeping and maintenance duties
  • Work with team members to complete operational priorities of the day, cross train in other job positions as needed
  • Keep current on safety inspections such as MSHA regulations and BURNCO safety policies
  • Other duties as assigned

Pay Rate: $24.50/hr and up

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

The primary areas of responsibility include:

  • Plant Safety
  • Operating Equipment
  • Equipment Maintenance

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Broad knowledge of operating heavy equipment
  • Ability to use power tools, welders, cutting torches/chains and various safety devices
  • Self motivated and able to work effectively in small teams
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and math skills
  • Ability to work 12 hour shifts and weekends

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Experience working in aggregate industry a plus
  • Experience operating heavy equipment in a plant environment preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred

TRAVEL REQUIREMENT

  • Less than 15% - as needed

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly outside and exposed to various weather conditions including hot/cold temperatures and rain/snow conditions.
  • Employee constantly sits, utilizes manual dexterity, uses fine motor skills, gross motor skills, eye/hand coordination, near/far vision and requires active hearing/listening.
  • Employee occasionally stands, walks, climbs, crawls, kneels, bends, reaches, lifts to 50 lbs, carries up to 50 lbs, pushes and pulls.
  • Employee is regularly exposed to loud noises, heavy machinery, moving equipment, oil, debris, solvents, smokes, gasses, fumes and aggregate materials.
  • Required PPE includes safety shoes above ankles, safety vests, safety glasses, ear plugs and hard hats. Additional PPE requirements needed for special jobs such as welding, repairing, etc.
